Accomodation

Accomodation in Toulouse

Finding accomodation is hard, especially if you don’t know the language, if you can’t visit the property or if you don’t know the area.

In this following page, we are here to help you navigate through the different tools that are available to international people.

How does Visale work ?

Visale is a tool which allows you to rent a place without a garantor. It works almost everywhere and for every students, international or not.

Money, Money, Money

As an international student or Erasmus, you can request the APL (Aides Personnelles au Logement) which is an financial housing assistance part of the CAF (Caisse d’Allocations Familiales), a financial aid program. You can also apply for the CROUS, however it is based on your parents income, therefore you may not benefit from it.

To have the money as soon as possible, apply to APL when you know where you are going to live in Toulouse.

You have to apply for the CROUS very early as they give you both a grant and accomodation if you request it.

Where and how to look for accomodation ?

For flatsharing, you can look at different websites or facebook groups. Usually, the current roommates are the ones selecting their future roommate thus they might ask for a call or an in-person viewing.

The best is to start looking early and to multiply visits or videocalls. The housing situation is not too bad in Toulouse so if you do not have the CROUS you can find something affordable depending on the area.

You can also look at agencies websites but there might extra fees. Always ask for a viewing, never pay any fees in advance, it might be scams. You can ask volunteers if you are doubting.
